Nomos-Bank was founded by the IST Group of Companies in 1993. The bank was primarily engaged in servicing corporate clients in the defense and gold mining industries. Over almost 10 years of operation, 6 branches were opened. In 2002, Fitch Ratings first assigned Nomos Bank an international rating. The bank was also rated Moody’s. In subsequent years, the bank has been actively expanding its regional network. In 2005, Nomos-Bank bought a controlling stake in Regiobank, in 2010 it acquired the Khanty-Mansiysk Bank. In April 2011, Nomos Bank held an IPO in London (LSE) and Moscow (RTS). The main seller of shares was Slovak investor Roman Korbachka, who owned 18.87%. The placement volume amounted to $ 600 million. The placement of Nomos-Bank shares was the first IPO of a private Russian bank on the London Stock Exchange. In 2013, the controlling stake in Nomos-Bank was consolidated by Otkritie Financial Group. As part of the Nomos-Bank holding, it was renamed Otkritie Financial Corporation Bank and became the main component of the Otkritie Group banking business.
